The TeamCyclist ProfilesGrant BaytonRider
C.V.Aged 34 and from Swindon. In 1999 he rode for professional Italian outfit Amore e Vita, reputedly the then Pope's favoutite Team! 2 top ten placings at the Tour of Poland. Last year, 1st Worcester St. Johns Road Race, 1st Ham Hill Road Race, 1st Overall Castle Combe Summer Road Race Series. Personal BiogI'm married to Suzanne, 11 years this year (makes mental note to self, don't get her handing up bottles in the gutter on our Anniversary...)! We have 2 children, Olivia 6 and Elliot 2. I've worked for WH Smith for 16 years. My favourite music is The Editors, Kasabian, U2 and even a bit of Prince. My Cycling heroes are Bernard Hinault for being so hard, Sid Barras for winning nearly every race I watched as a kid and my dad Phil, for also being a Professional Cyclist for 15 years and holding down a full time job. He can still give me sore legs! My ambitions for 2009 are to get a podium place in a Premier Calendar and to help my Team-mates to do the same. I first joined Sport Beans - Wilier because I respect Ben Luckwell with whom I've had a great partnership for the last 3 years and I wanted to be part of a new Team that had great ambition. After a successful first year I feel we can fully realise that ambition with the 2009 Squad. I like to read but don't have much chance with 2 kids, work and riding the bike, so it's normally the odd mag. And my personal tip? I never use the little ring in training! And, I cannot train without my iPod and Sport Beans!
