The TeamCyclist ProfilesBen LuckwellRider/Manager
C.V.Ben is 42 and hails from Bristol. He has vast experience of riding at top level. He is an Olympian, Commonwealth Games Medallist, 3 times Milk Race Stage Winner and Sprints Jersey winner in the Kelloggs Tour of Britain. In more recent times, Southern Division Circuit Race Champion and National Vets Road Race Champion too, a goal in 2009. Personal BiogI'm married to Coleen, with a 22 yr-old stepdaughter Mikayla who's studying at Exeter University . We have a Cocker Spaniel called Marnib who barks at everyone apart from her family for the first 5 minutes of meeting them! I've worked for an Engineering firm for 14 years since I stopped being a full time bike rider. My heroes are Sean Kelly because he could do it all, and Bernard Hinault because he was like Sean Kelly, rock hard. My main hobby is my motorbike, a Suzuki GSXR1000K5 - it's so fast it makes me laugh out loud! I've had loads of motorbikes over the years, Fireblades, R1's, Ducatis etc, all good bikes. I've been to the Isle of Man TT Races a few times, those blokes have got some serious guts. My personal tip is learn how to suffer in a race. My aims for this year are for the team to build on the success of 2008 and to shake things up in the Premier Calendar and on ITV, in the new Tour Series around the Cities of Britain. A top-3 in either is not beyond our reach.
